Her letter helped settle her son's vote. His vote gave American women the right to vote.
In 1902, James Burn opened a sock mill in Niota, Tennessee. In 1920, his wife Febb wrote a letter to their son Harry, a young state legislator. He cast the deciding vote that ratified the 19th Amendment. Four generations later, the women of that family still run the mill.
